A 70-Piece Collector’s Tourbillon Celebrating Hong Kong Design
The Memorigin Kan’s Series is a rare collector’s tourbillon created to celebrate Hong Kong design, cultural heritage and the artistry of one of the city’s most respected graphic designers.
Created in collaboration with Kan Tai-Keung for his 70th birthday, this limited-edition watch brings together Eastern symbolism and Western mechanical craftsmanship in a dramatic black and gold composition. The skeleton dial is engraved with 70 miniature “壽” characters, representing longevity and Kan’s 70th birthday celebration. A further 30 miniature “壽” characters are engraved on the back of the movement, bringing the total to 100 as an auspicious blessing of health and long life.
The black PVD coated stainless steel case gives the watch a bold and elegant presence, while the black movement and dial create a powerful stage for the golden details. The hands are crafted in 18K gold, adding a warm and precious contrast to the dark architecture of the watch.
At 12 o’clock, the flying tourbillon rotates once every 60 seconds, creating a hypnotic mechanical focal point. The dial also features a day/night indicator, 24-hour indicator and power reserve indicator, adding both visual balance and practical mechanical expression.
Inside, the manually wound movement is composed of 188 subassembly components and 21 jewels, beating at 28,800 oscillations per hour. A twin mainspring barrel helps deliver a 60-hour power reserve. Limited to only 70 pieces, the Kan’s Series is not just a tourbillon — it is a piece of Hong Kong design history made for serious collectors.
