A Dramatic Dragon and Phoenix Tourbillon of Harmony and Fortune

The Harmony of Dragon and Phoenix in its black version brings a more dramatic and contemporary presence to one of Memorigin’s most culturally expressive tourbillon designs.

Inspired by the traditional Chinese symbolism of the dragon and phoenix, the watch represents harmony, balance, fortune, and unity. The dragon symbolizes strength and passion, while the phoenix represents grace and tenderness. Together, they reflect the balance of Yin and Yang, a theme deeply rooted in Chinese culture.

The mother-of-pearl dial creates a layered scene of heaven, earth, ocean, and sky. An 18K gold dragon moves across the dial with finely sculpted claws, scales, and facial details, while a carved phoenix rises at the centre of the composition. The dragon’s eye is set with a Burmese ruby, adding a vivid point of colour and precious detail.

At 8 o’clock, the rotating Japanese Akoya pearl represents the legendary “Long Tu Zhu” motif — the dragon releasing its sacred pearl. The pearl rotates once every 60 seconds, echoing the motion of the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock and adding symbolic depth to the dial. The 2.5D domed sapphire crystal enhances the sculptural elements from both front and side views.

Inside, the watch is powered by an automatic flying tourbillon movement with 215 components, 41 jewels, twin mainspring barrels, and a 72-hour power reserve. Paired with a blue alligator strap, this black version gives the Dragon and Phoenix design a bolder, more modern character while preserving its traditional cultural meaning.
